HAZEL Bernice GAY LEWIS
Hazel Gay Lewis, 82, of Donalsonville died Monday, September 6, 2004 at her residence.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at Oakview Church of God with Rev. Milton Pate and Rev. Mylan Brookins officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Temples, Melvin Anderson, James Whitaker, Kevin Lewis, Monroe Bonner and Rocky Phillips.
Mrs. Lewis was born February 11, 1922 in Jade, FL to the late U.L., Sr. and Lillie Mae Ard Gay. She was a homemaker ad a member of the Oakview Church of God in Donalsonville. She was married to Rupert Odis Lewis for 64 years on August 31, 1940.
Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Anne and Ron Miller of Donalsonville and Becky and Larry McMasters of Norfolk, VA; two sons Levonne and Becky Lewis of Donalsonville and Rev. James Allen and Demoaris Lewis of Savannah; six sisters, Faye and Bill Jenkins of Dothan, AL; Thelma G. Short of Pensacola, FL, Patsy G. Peters of Bonifay, FL, Carolyn G. Morris of Syla, N.C., Janet G. Harcus of Caryville, FL, Betty Lou G. Pettingill of Bonifay, FL; four brothers, Robert D. Gay of Irving, FL, Carl B. Gay of Laurel Hill, FL, Cary W. Gay of Caryville, FL and Pasco C. Gay of Esto, FL.; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, U.L. Gay, Jr. and Emory Gay.
